Point Location Description: Point 2.3 km NW of Rows Corners.

Access Description: About 3 ml N of Brockville and accessible.
Circa 1903 : a peat briquetting plant was built which was subsequently transferred to Peat Industries Ltd (Brantford), but it closed down a few years later. This company carried out some drainage in the W part of the bog - which became a quagmire. c1911 : worked for peat fuel - the plant was idle in 1920. Several years of drainage of the bog, by adjoining farmland, was reported in 1946 in the W part of the deposit.
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The bog has and area of 1,400 acres. The W part of the bog is, comparatively, poorly humified. The NW and centre are better and the E is more humified (and deep) but heavily wooded. The peat depth varies from 2.5 to 16 ft and is estimated at a total volume of workable peat of 14,314,000 cu yds with a moisture content of 25 %.
