Exploration History

This clay underlies a yellow moulding sand - see ' Paul ', MDI31B12SE00011. This clay may be the same as that used in a brickyard on the N outskirts of Brockville (1924).

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A red-burning clay underlies a yellow moulding sand, and this was sampled to depth of 6 ft. The clay is brownish, non-calcareous, free from pebbles and with good working qualities. Shrinkage is high and drying qualities not so good, requiring at least 25 % sand to be added. Good for building brick or field drain-tile (1924).
