Point Location Description: Point 0.6 km south-east of Lyn. Site of former sand pit.

Access Description: Samples taken on a prominent ridge of white quartzite which lies S of Lyn and extends E-W for 5-6 ml over a width of 1/2 ml. # 60-48 is a chip sample taken across 100 ft, just S of the Lyn sand pit. # 60-49 is a chip sample taken across 150 ft, 11/4 ml NE of sample # 60-48.

Nov 28, 2013 (C Papertzian) - Extensive ridges of white quartzite are exposed in a belt, 6-8 ml long, along the St. Lawrence River from Kingston to Brockville. In Elizabethtown township, 2 samples were taken c 1963 (# 60-48 and # 60-49), 1 sample c 1949 and 1 sample in 1918 (# 1726).
Nov 28, 2013 (A Wilson) - The quartzite is white to glassy, medium- to coarse-grained and completely recrystallized. There are minor intrusions of granite.

Nov 28, 2013 (A Wilson) - Sample 60-48 assayed: 90.36% SiO2, 1.03% Fe2O3, 0.90% Al2O3, 0.31% MgO and 0.07% CaO. It was collected across a 100 ft section of the ridge. Sample 60-49 assayed: 95.58% SiO2, 1.36% Fe2O3, 1.13% Al2O3, 0.27% MgO and 0.19% CaO. It was a chip sample collected across 150 ft of the quartzite ridge 1.5 mi northeast of sample 60-48.
