Sep 17, 2015 (A Wilson) - The 4.5 m deep quarry exposes fine- to medium-crystalline dolostones and sandy dolostones of the March Foramtion. Green tinges in the rock are the result of minor amounts of glauconite along the bedding planes. Glacial overburden around the quarry is thin. The quarry is licensed for an area of 18.37 ha; annual tonnage 150,000 tonnes.
