Point Location Description: Peatbog in NW corner of Edwardsburg Twp., 4.5 Km. SW of Groveton.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: The mideast boundary is 3 Km. SW of Groveton at the end of a sideroad from that town. The northern portion can be reached [ about 2 Km. south ] and traversed by the CNR rail line that runs south from Oxford Station. The southern boundary can be reached by travelling 2 Km. NW from Roebuck along a sideroad to its end. From there a forest access road runs due north to the southern edge [ about 2 Km. ] and then into the deposit.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - 1990 ha deposit, approximately 13.2 x 10 -6 cu m of peat in central portion (about 50 % of total reserves of the deposit) which is domed. The deposit has proven hard to drain and it has a generally high stump content of 1.25 %. With some exceptions, tree cover is dense.
