Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A silica deposit is noted (c 1947) - 12 ft thick and estimated at 100,000 tons in the deposit. No more information available. There is no mention of this deposit in GSC 1917, though Precambrian quartzite is noted on lots 33 and 34, con 4 (site # 177). Here quartzite occupies the centre of the area, on low ground, flanked by conglomerate and siliceous magnesian limestone.
