Access Description: Individual exposures are described over a large area of Edwardsburgh and surrounding townships, as at site # 154.. See map 168A in Memoir 99 (1917).
At a few of these sites quarrying has been carried out, sometimes in a very minor way.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Individual exposures of Beekmantown (Oxford Formation) limestone are described across Edwardsburgh township (and others), with particular respect to quarrying potential. The lithological characteristics of the outcrops encountered are briefly described with a few comments on their location and suitability for extraction. The small quarries mapped here are listed separately, although there is no more information on many of them. The outcrops are generally siliceous dolomitic limestone.
