A quarry is reported here in 1917. The author also noted that he prospected for gold at the cheese factory on these lots.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Beekmantown - siliceous magnesian limestone, medium-grained with a few calcite crystals - in the quarry. A fairly tough, fine-grained, thin-bedded dolomite, near river level, becomes shaley upwards. Overburden is 1-5 ft thick. At the cheese factory is an altered and mineralized limestone.
