Point Location Description: Quarry symbol 14, 1.5 miles SW of Iroquois, S of CN Rail.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: 2.5 km SW of the Village of Iroquois.
1955: First opened by Iroquois Rock Company, coinciding with the St. Lawrence Seaway Project (1955-59). Stone used in the construction of the seaway or in the relocaton of public/private property and facilities, i.e. the relocation of the CN railway line from Cardinal to Cornwall. The quarry also supplied concrete stone for the construction of the Ogdensburg to Johnstown bridge in 1960 and was purchased late that year by Mac Fetterley (Lst. in Ontario, vol. 2, p9).

Dec 07, 2005 (D Laidlaw) - The quarry is 27.6 m deep and is operated with 2 lifts. The quarry exposes fine to medium-crystalline, medium to thick-bedded dolostones of the Oxford Formation.
