Access Description: An excavation for the foundation of a house, beside Hwy 2, 1/2 ml E of the junction with Hwy 16.
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A grey clay to a depth of 4 ft (sample # 60). This expanded 55 % when fired in the rotary kiln at 2040 to 2085 degrees F. The unit weight was 37.1 lb/cu ft and the crushing strength was 240 and 750 psi for 1- and 2- inch compaction. This is a promising material for the rotary kiln process.
