Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Drive 2.7 km west of Hwy 62 on Hwy 7. Follow trail leading south from highway, east of quarry, for 252 m. Walk along fence for 356 m. At post beside bend in fence, walk over to track 12 m south of fence and follow track to SW for 203 m. At fork in track, follow left track and walk 126 m. At break in fence on east side, walk SW 86 m to roack on other side of low ground. Turn south and follow trees 118 m to small grassy bay in the trees. Walk 82 m at 208 deg.
1917: Mineral Products Limited is reported to have produced 3 carloads of fluorspar from the property of George Lee Jr. About 1940: C.A. Stoklosar mined the deposit from open-cuts and shallow shafts. Estimated production was 1,100 tons to the end of 1941. 1943-45: Bassett Fluorspar Mining Syndicate Limited operated the mine and produced 684 tons. Total production from the property was approximately 2,000 tons of fluorspar.
