Point Location Description: Point 2.3 km SE of Marmora.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Site of the Marmoraton iron mine, southeast of the Village of Marmora.
TYPE: CRUSHING OVERBURDEN PALEOZOICS FROM MARMORATON MINE...ALSO WASTE ROCK. 1980's: Armbro Materials and Construction Ltd. worked the waste piles of limestone as a source of aggregate. 2002, 2003: Aecon Construction and Materials Ltd. produce aggregate from the waste piles of limestone (ROA 2002 and 2003).

Geological Age: Paleozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (D Laidlaw) - Bobcaygeon Formation, lower member: 13.3 m thick. Gull River Formation: lower member consists of 19.8 m of interbedded dolostone and limestone. The upper member consists of 7.2 m of thin- to rarely medium-bedded limestone, with shale partings. In the Marmora pit, 16.3 m of the lower member of the Bobcaygeon Formation are exposed.
