Point Location Description: Point 6.0 km ENE of Marmora.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Travel approximately 3.2 km east from Marmora on Hwy 7. Turn south on sideroad which meets old #7. The Rankin/Harrington property is south of old #7 at this point.
1873: Toronto Gold Mining Co. made an opening in the NW 1/4. 1901: Canadian Goldfields sunk a shaft known as the Rankin. Much trenching and pitting of unknown origin. 1966: 3 diamond drill holes put down by A. Daoust (mentioned in assessment file Marmora #18 and #73. 1976: Radem VLF-EM survey by J.R. Harrington (File 9, 2.2158). 1979-1980: Line-cutting and radem VLF-EM survey. IP survey was run on 2 lines (File 18, 2.6098). 1982: Fluxgate magnetometer survey by J.R. Harrington (File #16, 2.5255). 1983: Sampling by J.E. Muir of the Falconbridge Metallurgical Laboratories was conducted (File 18, 2.6098). Dipole-dipole induced polarization survey was conducted (File #19, 2.6097). 1994: Dusan Dmitrovic established a grid, prospected and mapped the geology of the area. A magnetic and a VLF-EM survey were performed (File 73 OP94-269; File 74, 2.16752).
