Exploration History

Numerous pits and trenches of unknown origin (likely late 1880's) trend northwards toward the Rankin occurrence. The Marsh Ore Bed and Rankin occurrences have been repeatedly held as one property, so much of their history overlaps. 1976: RADEM VLF-EM survey by J.R. Harrington (31C05NE0015). 1979-1980: Line-cutting and RADEM VLF-EM survey. IP survey was run on 2 lines (31C05NE0010). 1982: Fluxgate magnetometer survey by J.R. Harrington (31C05NE0012). 1983: Sampling by J.E. Muir of the Falconbridge Metallurgical Laboratories was conducted (31C05NE0010). Dipole-dipole induced polarization survey was conducted (31C05NE0010). 2010: Golden Jaguar Explorations Ltd conducted a geological survey with sampling and analyses.

Mineralization Comments

May 11, 2023 (Mateo Dorado-Troughton) - Magnetite mineralization was observed in multiple rock piles south of pit 15, the original exposures are no longer apparent. Massive magnetite is common, associated with minorpyrite, pyrrhotite, and arsenopyrite mineralization. The rocks are weathered, rusted, and gossanous. Occasional seams of euhedral crystalline magnetite are visible as well. Assessment file 20000004577 report elevated, but uneconomic Ti and V values from waste rock piles.

Site Visit Information

Date: May 09, 2023

Geologist: Mateo Dorado-Troughton

Notes: Visited by the SO DG and summer student. Waste pile samples of massive magnetite were collected. Pits 14 and 15 (referenced in (86-MAR-02) were located, the mineralization is not visible due to flooding in the pits.
