Access Description: From highway # 62 south at the south edge Madoc turn west onto Seymour Street. At 1.9 km, the LeBeau farm house is on the right. 2.0 km, the Bailey mine is on the right.



Exploration History

Discovered in the 1890's. Worked in 1905 and 1907. 1916-1917, 60 tons of ore recovered; 1944-1950, 25,000 tons of ore recovered; shaft 190 feet deep with levels at the 100 foot and 179 foot levels, 60 foot east of the open cut. The open cut is 80 feet long, 15 feet wide and 44 feet deep. Second largest fluourite producer in Madoc township.

Jul 17, 2023 (Sheree Hinz) - In 1946 a 2,680 lb sample was taken for analysis and returned 62.04% CaF2 and 2.86% BaSO4
