Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: Drive 5.6 km south of main intersection in Madoc. Turn left on Conc. XII. Drive 1.5km. On north side of road a few feet past a private campground on the right, is an overgrown laneway. Walk the laneway to the end.



Exploration History

1916: Fluorite discovered by Donald Henderson. 1917-18: Messrs. Wellington and Munro recovered fluorspar and a little barite from surface cuts. 1918-1920: Can. Ind. Minerals Limited operated from extensive underground workings. 1920-1940: Mine dormant. 1941-1943: Mine operated by R.T. Gilman, recovering 9000 tons of ore from old stopes. Production to end of 1941: 15,500 tons. Total production from Noyes: about 25,000 tons.
