Exploration History

1897: The mine was first opened by Mr. Sloan of Perth. 1898: Worked by W. Mace of Tamworth. 1908: Excelsior Mining Co. of Toronto worked for a year. There are 6 pits, the largest of which is 40 feet deep. (MRC 8, p37).
