Exploration History

1920's, occurrence owned by J. Woodruffe of Cataraqui. Ontario. About 100 tons were mined in the 1890's from the east end of the zone and ground in a local flour mill for use in paint.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 05, 2007 (D Laidlaw) - A black ashpalt-like hydrocarbon mineral fills the space between barite plates (anthraxolite?).


Jul 10, 2023 (Sheree Hinz) - A grab sample was taken from the stockpile near the old pit and returned 92.13% BaSO4 (Spencer, 1922)
