Quarry opened in about 1989 by J.R. Storey Construction Co Ltd. It is not designated under the Pits and Quarries Act and has an excavated area of 3 ha. Face height is about 4.2 m and overburden is generally less than 1 m thick. The quarry produces good quality road base material.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Thin-bedded shaley limestone of the upper member of the Gull River Formation. Microcrystalline to very fine-grained limestone with a few beds of fine to medium-grained calcarenite. Moderately fossiliferous with brachiopods most common.
