Access Description: About 10 km E of Napanee on the N side of Hwy 401.
1960s : operated by Carter Construction Co Ltd for crushed stone for Hwy 401. Now water-filled, it was opened to over 7 m. Only about 1 m is exposed. A second, much older and overgrown quarry, is located immediately to the N of this quarry. It exposes about 4.5 m of similar strata.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The upper member of the Gull River Formation, a thin-medium-bedded microcrystalline to fine-grained limestone. It contains sparsely fossiliferous beds which commonly contain small patches of calcite crystal 'birdseye' texture.
