Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The granite weathers brownish - buff in colour while the fresh surface is pink. The grain size is medium to coarse while the texture is foliated. The joint patterns tend to be limited to moderate and are regular allowing block sizes in the 2m by 2m by 1m range. Pyrite was noted in the hand samples and is associated with the mafics in the granite. A fine grained mafic dyke, 10 cm wide was noted in the outcrop. A moderate to strong fabric was also noted in outcrop.
