Feb 20, 2013 (A Wilson) - The rock is white to yellowish in colour with only a slight cementing bond in the rock exposed.
Feb 20, 2013 (A Wilson) - A geochemical analysis of the silica yielded 98.40% SiO2, 0.24% Fe2O3 and 0.76% Al2O3. Material from the quarry was used around 1900 for glass making in Montreal but the quarry was abandoned when glass sand from the United States and Belgium could be imported cheaper than this rock could be quarried and crushed.
