Sep 14, 2015 (A Wilson) - The outstanding feature of this medium-grained, massive syenite is the deep red colour of the feldspars. Alteration of the mafic component and the intense irregular jointing found in this area limit the building stone potential. Nevertheless, owing to its deep red colour, this rock may have some use in the building stone industry. The syenite is part of the Rideau Lakes monzonite pluton.
