Point Location Description: pit near south west end of Higley Lake
Location Method: Data Compilation
Access Description: The pits are scattered in a wooded area and are not easy to locate. Access to the area is by a tractor road that leaves the Lyndhurst-Lansdowne Road at km 18.0 (just before crossing a bridge over a swampy area). The nearest pit is at the southern end of Higley Lake approximately 180 m from the road. Other pits may be reached by following the ridge along the west side of Higley Lake.

Nov 21, 2013 (A Wilson) - Quartz crystals up to 30 cm long and doubly terminated can be collected from this site. There are undeveloped occurrences of quartz crystals at this site. The quartz crystals occur as aggregates and as individual doubly-terminated crystals up to 12 cm long and about 2 cm across. They occupy vugs in milky quartz. The smaller crystals are clear but the larger ones are generally milky
