This quarry was tested and used for building stone at an earlier date, but has since turned into a crushed stone operation.
Province: Grenville
Geological Age: Mesoproterozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - This quarry is used for crushed aggregate and armour stone. The extraction of large blocks (25 tons) is improbable due to the amount of blasting that has taken place in this quarry. The jointing pattern is also very irrregular on this part of Straw Hill making block extraction difficult. Some pyrite mineralization was also noted.
