Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: North on Hwy 62 from Hwy 7 to Riggs Rd., turn right or east. The quarry is south of the road, about 200 yards from the intersection and 100 feet in from the road.
This quarry was operated from 1934 to 1939 by Canadian Slate Products Limited and Canada Slate Products Limited. 2001: The property has been held for some time by Stoklosar Marble Quarries. During a field visit by the DSG the water filled quarry was observed to be fenced off. An area to the south and east of the quarry is clear and has been filled with broken slate pieces. A stockpile of slate fragments is located on the side of the trail leading into the quarry.This pile is used for road aggregate.
