A zone of garnet schist across lots 9, 10 and 11, concessions 10 and 11; its greatest width is about 472 m (1500 feet) wide. Garnets are 1-2 cm in size (pea to cherry size) and occur as masses of continuous beds. Garnets occuring in lot 9 might not be suitable for abrasives due to their impurities (CMB Pub 677)
