Point Location Description: 2.5 km N of S boundary and 2.5 km Eof W boundary, of Elzevir township.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: From Hwy 7 W of Actinolite, drive Hastings Road 20 for 1 km to the driveway of a red brick house. From here, shafts 1 to 3 are a further 131 m along the road and 84 m W from it. Shaft 4 is 88 m along the road and 18 m E from it.
Circa 1870 : a shallow shaft was sunk at the Barry Mine - in 1870 there was, reportedly, 40 tons of ore at their mill ready for crushing, and more at the mine. Four shafts were located in 1986 - 3 on lot 4, con 2 and 1 on lot 4, con 3 - not on lot 5 as stated in the literature. # 1 was 2.4 x 3.6 x 2.4 m deep to water; # 2 was 1.5 x 4.5 x 3.0 m deep and dry; # 3 was 4.2m in diameter and 0.6 m deep to water; # 4 was 2.4 x 3.0 x 1.8 m deep and dry. None of the shafts was fenced and shaft # 1 was well camouflaged with vegetation. 1987-88 : Lacana Mining Corp carried out geological, soil geochemical and geophysical surveys (mag,VLF-EM) on lots 4-6, con 2 (the Barry-Joseph property / Dingham option). 1988 : Corona Corp drilled 5 holes (1,402 ft) on lot 5, con 2 (S 1/4) and lot 4, con 3 (NW 1/4).

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - At the Barry Mine the ore was said to be made up of native gold in very white quartz with little sulphide and ' very rich ' (1870). Gold is hosted in a strongly silicified and carbonatized zone (15-100 ft wide) which contains cross-cutting quartz veinlets. It appears to be a quartz-ankerite breccia zone in metasediments. This is exposed in a road cut on Hastings Co Rd 20, 1.1 km N of Hwy 7 (an 80 ft wide zone) Mineralization consists of pods of pyrite and arsenopyrite (< 3 %) These average 100 ppb Au with a high of 805 ppb Au. Dumps and trenches occur 100 ft E of the road and 250-375 ft W of the road. The drilling suggests that the gold mineralization is low grade and erratic.

Mar 18, 2024 (Nazha Sabiri) - A foliated amphibolite sample with disseminated arsenopyrite from DDH BJ-88-4 returned gold value above 10,000 ppb. An ankerite altered sample from the quartz -carbonate breccia zone returned 6559 ppm copper and 1120 ppm gold (31C11SW0001).
