Point Location Description: Point 4 km E of Queensborough.

Location Method: Conversion from MDI

Access Description: About 100 ft from the SE corner of the lot is a pit (1926). Drive N from Hwy 7 on the Queensborough road (Hastings Road 12). There is a junction at 4.8 km (3 ml); continue straight ahead. At 5.1 km (3.2 ml) there is a lane on the right to the Kelly farmhouse. Opposite the lane (on the left) a trail leads through the woods for 70 m to the pit (1970, 1987). This is W of Hastings Road 12 and so in con2, not 3. Is this the same showing and pit as described by Wilson (1926) ?.

Exploration History

Pre-1926 : a pit was sunk on a zone of irregularly foliated talcose dolomite, 15-20 ft wide and of 150 ft (exposed) length (1926). Similar material is exposed on the roadside 100 ft to the NW, so the zone is several hundred feet long. The pit was water-filled and partly overgrown in 1987 (assuming these references are for the same location), but specimens could be obtained from the piles near the pit.
