Access Description: Drive north from junction of highways 7 and 14 in Marmora for 0.2 km. Turn left then right and continue north. At 7.05 km (from intersection in Marmora) drive north on North Marmora Road. At 10.45 km there is a junction with a gravel road, continue straight. At. 11.9 km there is a 90 degrees bend in road to the North (left). Laneway straight ahead (East). Drive down lane. At 13.5 km there is a fork in lane, drive left (N) following sign saying Bill. 13.9 km, access lane to the right (East). The pit is 368 m in on this lane.
1890: M.H. Powell discovered gold. 1890-91: Emorry Demarse sank several test pits in NW corner of Con V, Lot 24, pit 20 ft X 8 ft X 121 ft. 1892: Powell employed 4-5 men for 6 months to strip vein and put down several test pits. 100 tons of hematite were removed. 1989-90: Noranda Exploration Company Limited performed some geological, geochemical and a ground electromagnetic and magnetometer on their claims in the east half of lot 24. 1995: Prospecting, rock sampling, line cutting, pit mapping and B horizon soil sampling by Jim Chard (OP95-339). 1996: Prospecting, rock sampling, line cutting, magnetometer and VLF-EM survey by Jim Chard (OP96-228). 1997: Prospecting, rock sampling, geological mapping, B horizon soil sampling by Jim Chard (OP97-256).
