Point Location Description: The north part of the property is located where highway no. 7 and the Moira river intersect.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: The property is located on lots 5 to 8, concession 8, Marmora Township. Access to the property is via highway no. 7 and from the old Madoc-Marmora road. The property crosses highway no. 7, immediately east of the Moira river, approximately 5 km. east of the town of Marmora.
In 1986 Black Hawk Mining Corp. acquired this property. Diamond drilling was carried out in the area of the deposit both north and south of highway no. 7 and the old Madoc-Marmora road between 1987 and 1990. In excess of 6200 metres of core were drilled in this period of time from the Bezeau, the Davidson, the Deloro Wollastonite, the Platinova, the Rahm, and the Wilmar properties. A bulk sample was removed for a pilot plant scale separation test that was carried out by Lakefield Reserch. This test was successful in producing a good-quality Wollastonite product. Llittle work has been carried out on this property since. This property is presently owned by Gitennes Exploration Inc.
Province: Grenville
Subprovince: Central Metasedimentary Belt
Geological Age: Mesoproterozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - This wollastonite zone trends NW and dips moderately to steeply to the east. It has a minimum strike length of 1200 m. It varies in width from a couple of meters to over 100 meters in the north and central portion of the property. The unit is a fine to medium grained wollastonite bearing calcitic marble/calc-silicate rock and is white to light green in colour. The weathered surface is grey to black in colour and has a pitted appearance with the calcite standing out in relief and the wollastonite weathering low. The reverse is true where the outcrop has been covered by overburden - stripped area to the north.of highway no. 7. The mineral assemblage consists predominantly of wollastonite and calcite with minor diopside-hedenbergite. Trace amounts of tremolite, quartz, talc, mica and chlorite were detected by X-ray diffraction. Minor fine-grained pyrite, rare fluorite, garnet and sphalerite were observed at several locations. The wollastonite occurs in nodular aggregates 1-30 cm in diameter or as blades and fibres in a fine to medium grained calcitic matrix. Individual blades up to 6 cm in length occur south of the Madoc-Marmora road. Several mafic and felsic dykes intrude the mineralized zone. The mafic dykes (amphibolite) are fine to medium grained, black to greenish in colour and composed of amphibolite, plagioclase, potassium feldspar, epidote and sphene. The width varies from .5 to 2.0 m and exhibit near vertical dips. Frequently, in contact with the wollastonite bearing unit is a fine grained serpentine bearing marble commonly dipping to the east at 55 to 60 degrees. The Marble is calcitic to slightly dolomitic in composition. It is also massive to weakly foliated and is prediminantly light green in colour but can vary to mottled grey and green to grey. The hornfels unit is an aphanitic to fine grained, silicious looking rock, frequently adjacent to the serpentine-bearing marble, but which may occur in dirrect contact with the mineralized zone.

Geologist: C Papertzian
Notes: The calculated reserves on this property are 450,000 t (open pit) grading at 47% wollastonite, plus 680,000 t grading at 39% wollastonite in a separate zone. Two visits to the property, north of highway 7, were conducted on April 28th, 2001 and September 25th, 2001. No new activity was apparent on both occasions.
