Point Location Description: ' Fe, Ga ' symbol 0.6 Km SW of Cordova Mines.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Take Co. Rd. 48 to Cordova Mines. The gravel road [ snowmobile trail ] just W of the village gives access to the property, 0.8 Km to the S.
1899: Initial trenching and surface stripping by Buffalo Union Furnace Company. Limited mining from 2 open pits. 1905-1906: Unknown operator put down 6 diamond drill holes, conducted some metallurgical tests and a magnetometer survey. 1911: Mining resumed with sinking of 79 metre 3-compartment shaft. Plant was erected at this time. 1914: mining operation had ceased. 1917: Canadian Furnace Company, Limited took over the deposit and optoned it to Consolidated Howy Gold Mines Limited in 1950. 1970: Canada Costa Rica Mines Limited acquired an option on the property and bulk sampling, metallurgical tests and mill tests were performed. Option dropped in 1971.
