Metamorphism Grade: Mid-amphibolite

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Laidlaw) - Two mineralized zones lie within the two lowermost formations of the Flinton Group: N- quartz-tourmaline-hematite veins within metasediments contain py, cp, minor td and sp along a 300 m long sheared contact with narrow quartz veins. S - quartz-calcite-tremolite veins, discontinuous for about 300 m within dolomites, contain td, as, sp, cp, boulangerite and lesser py and tourmaline. Assays range from trace to 5.7 oz/t Au and Ag up to 46.75 oz/t.

Geologist: Mateo Dorado-Troughton

Notes: Trenches and pits were located and samples were collected. The North and South zones within the Flinton Group's Myers Cave and Bishops Corners formation were identified. The two zones appear to be two parallel, shear-zone hosted quartz-carbonate vein systems. One in the basal Bishops Corners formation, and one in the dolomitic marble of the Myers Cave formation.
