Access Description: Southern part of Grimsthorpe Township is accessed from the driveable that follows the power line in northern Elzevir Township. Three km NE of Lingham Lodge, now a Buddhist Monastery, on the power line, a forest track follows the east shore of Canniff Creek to the occurrence.
Wilson in 1926, reports an opening 0.3 m to 1.2 m wide and 0.9 m deep, excavated adjacent to a south-eastward facing cliff 3.6 m high. A second pit, 0.6 m to 1.2 m wide and 0.3 m to 0.9 m deep is located 90 m NE of the first pit.
Dec 07, 2005 (D Laidlaw) - Talc occurs within serpentinized and talc-carbonate altered rocks in mafic metavolcanics in a unit approximately 10 m wide and 200 m in length. The Canniff Lake granite lies to the north of the occurrence (LeBaron and van Haaften 1989).
