Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A talc occurrence, located along the E margin of the Canniff Tonalite - N of the 'Grimsthorpe 1 and 2' occurrences described by LeBaron and van Haaften (1989). It consists of a body of coarsely-crystalline, pale green talc associated with anthophyllite-rich rocks. These occurrences are part of a belt that lie along the W margin of the Elzevier and Weslemkoon tonalites, from Hwy 7 in the S to Weslemkoon Lake in the N. They are hosted in mafic and ultramafic rocks and occur within 2 km of the intrusions.
