Geological Age: Mesoproterozoic
Aug 10, 2016 (L Hall) - Tholeiitic mafic volcanic rocks and intrusive rocks of the Canniff Complex (tonalite, gabbro, metavolcanics – possible ophiolite fragment) are overlain by younger volcaniclastic rocks of the Grimsthorpe Group. These are intruded by (from oldest to youngest) the Killer Creek Gabbro, Elzevir Tonalite (1270 Ma), and Skootamatta Syenite (1085Ma). The Partrige Creek shear zone, a north-northeast-trending deformation zone up to 100 m wide, lies on the western margin of the Killer Creek gabbro and transects the property. Gold mineralization on the property occurs in quartz veins hosted by sheared and brecciated volcaniclastic rocks to the west of the Partridge Creek shear zone.
