Access Description: Beneath the power line at Fernleigh. From the junction of the Kashewakamak Lake road and Hwy 506, E of Fernleigh, drive 0.35 ml and turn left. Travel 0.2 ml to the power line.

Apr 30, 2021 (Sheree Hinz) - Blue kyanite crystals measuring up to 6 inches in length and an inch in diameter occur in a fine silvery grey sericite schist.

Mineralization Comments

Apr 30, 2021 (Sheree Hinz) - Needle-like sillimanite aggregates, brown staurolite crystals (about an inch in diameter) and small amounts of magnetite and chlorite are associated with the kyanite. Blue kyanite crystals up to 6 inches long and 1inch diameter occur in the schist.
