Gold was reported to be present, as was silver (1904). 1963: Ganda Silver Mines drilled 6 holes (1,054 ft) near the workings (4 beneath the showings) - best assays of 0.52 oz/t Au ove r0.7 ft and 0.02 oz/t Au over 2.5 ft. 5 other holes by unknown operators (861.5 ft). 1980: Selco Mining Corp Ltd carried out geology and soil sampling surveys - no anomalies reported. 1987: Ardoch Syndicate completed a ground geophysical survey (resistivity, IP). 1988: Aurochs SEM Inc. completed geological mapping and geochemical analyses. 1989: C. Hill and S. Hill completed 5 diamond drill holes totaling 1,128 ft. and geochemical analyses. 1992 W.E. Holmstead carried out overburden stripping and geochemical sampling. 1993: W. Brack carried out prospecting, trenching, geochemistry, petrography, and air photo imagery interpretation.

Marble 3 Near

Lithology Comments

Jun 11, 2021 (Sheree Hinz) - The deposit occurs within a sequence of paragneisses near the contact with a discontinuous unit or lens of marble. These rocks form part of an extensive, folded sequence of metavolcanic, clastic and calcareous metasedimentary rocks. The occurrence is hosted in a conformable quartz vein within paragneisses, a short distance north of the contact with dolomitic marbles.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 11, 2021 (Sheree Hinz) - A 0.3 m wide vertical quartz vein contains disseminated arsenopyrite and minor pyrite. It occurs within an altered biotite gneiss situated about 10 m N of the marble contact. Conformable quartz and calcite stringers and veins contain up to 5 percent pyrite and arsenopyrite. Little significant mineralization was detected in core samples, however one zone assayed 1.07 oz/ton Au and 0.29 oz/ton Ag.
