Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: First main intersection East of Oso Station on secondary road, that heads North.
1962-63, Angelstone Ltd., quarried several hundered tons of white and grey medium crystalline marble. Two quarries opened up: one measuring 9.1 m x 9.1 m x 1.8 m deep; the second quarry was opened up on a 7.6 m high outcrop ridge of marble, (IMR 16). Sabina (1970) notes minor amounts of mica and tremolite in the marbles, (GSC Paper 69-50). Building Stone Inventory, sample site 86-Oso-012, potential for quarrying blocks is rated as fair. Former marble quarry, suitable for small scale uses, (OFR 5706).
