Exploration History

1909: W. Fowler - mine owner. Mr. Austin of Toronto operated the mine. (main pit averaged 20 ft deep, 15 feet wide and 30 ft long).

Lithology Comments

Sep 19, 2015 (A Wilson) - Well layered quartz-biotite-garnet-feldspar gneiss± garnet, locally containing cordierite, hypersthene or sillimanite and dark green weathering pyroxene gneiss and pyroxene-hornblende gneiss. The mica lead strikes N65ºW in dark pyroxenite cutting dark gneiss.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 19, 2015 (A Wilson) - The mica is a very dark variety and much crushed. It is associated with much pyrite and minor calcite.
