Sep 18, 2015 (A Wilson) - The gneiss is well layered quartz-biotite-feldspar gneiss of varied protolith. It consists of tectonized equivalents of gabbro, diorite, and marble.

Sep 18, 2015 (A Wilson) - Road-cuts on both sides of highway expose black tourmaline and light green scapolite in quartz veins cutting feldspar gneiss. Veinlets of epidote cut the feldspar.
