Lithology Comments

Sep 15, 2015 (A Wilson) - The dominant vegetation includes deciduous, conifer and thicket swamp. About 10% of the treed area is flooded. There is also an area of cultivated land on the south side and some of the land is overgrown with thickets. The humified peat depth varied from 20 to 130 cm and averaged 78 cm. There was no unhumified peat. In general, peat depths were shallower in the embayment extending north-east from the main deposit and on the average, deeper than the main body. Woody peat was intersected at each site location and is probably typical of the entire deposit.
