Lithology Comments

Sep 10, 2016 (A Wilson) - The pit consisted of an anastomosing system of narrow, vertical barite stringer, comprised within a vein zone about 10 feet wide. The individual stringers attain a maximum width of 18 inches. The strike of the deposit was approximately east- west and other outcrops occur over a distance of 1000 yards.

Mineralization Comments

Sep 10, 2016 (A Wilson) - The barite is clean and unmixed with other minerals. It is of the soft type, opaque, massive and with partially developed platy structure. The colour of the ore is not uniform, pink and white, or gray barite alternating with each other. The general run-of-mine, therefore, would represent rather off-colour mineral. While extending for a considerable distance along strike, the deposit does not appear to attain any considerable width and the narrowness of the individual barite stringers involve the removal of much dead rock.
