Lithology Comments

Aug 04, 2016 (R Easton) - Weathered an vegetated roadcuts between 65 and 100 m long on both sides of old Highway 15, which is now a side-road cut off from the current Highway 15. Tremolite, talc and mica are present but are not gemstone quality. The site is not a mineral collecting spot but is simply noted as a roadcut exposure on Highway 15 at the 47.8 m mark, roughly 2.9 km of current Highway 15 and Otter Lake road junction.

Sep 16, 2015 (A Wilson) - Road cuts expose a marble gneiss contact. Colourless grey and greenish tremolite and quartz are abundant in the marble, massive light green talc occurring as alteration of the tremolite. Silvery-amber mica (2 inch) and fine pyrite are also present.
