Point Location Description: Point 1 km SE of Silver Lake.

Access Description: Section site is a road cut, is hard to find and has deteriorated - most of it is covered and only fragments of the original section are visible. It should be preserved if possible.
Type Section for the Lower Bobcaygeon Formation (C2). 1999 : M. Johnson applied for permission to take a bulk sample of limestone from lot 2, con 3. This was from 3 sites on the lot and 200-250 tons in size. The rock was to be used in building walls and in landscaping, etc, to see if it was potentially saleable for these purposes.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - This road cut exposes the C1 and C2 beds of the Lower member of the Bobcaygeon Formation, Middle Ordovician. These C1 beds are believed to represent a true, shallow water biostrome (a bedded structure of crinoid beds, coral beds, etc...). The Middle and Upper members are the associated sediments, persistent across central Ontario. While the C1 beds consist of 0.15 m of silicified, fossiliferous material, the C2 beds consist of granular and fragmental limestone (calcarenite). The siliceous material is beekite, a form of chalcedony.
