Point Location Description: Property symbol ' Q ', 1.25 km E of Union Creek.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: From Union Creek, on Hwy 121, drive E on the Crystal Lake road for 1 km and turn S. Drive past the farm of D. Grego. The pit is located about 400 m E of the road and 200 m S of the farmhouse on a ridge crossing the field (N of the Union Creek). The land is owned by W. Scott of Kinmount.
Circa 1894 : a pit, 14 ft deep on a quartz vein - it is now under a cherry tree (Res File # GS 37) and heavily overgrown.

Geological Age: Mesoproterozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A 2 ft thick quartz vein in biotite gneiss; no exposure in the pit. Calcite and pyrite and a small amount of pyrrhotite are reported. Samples assayed by the GSC gave no Ag or Au values, but a sample assayed in Oregon returned 30 oz/ton plus Ag, Cu and Ni !!! (1894). Samples were assayed more recently (Res File # GS 37), with no notable results.
