Jan 10, 2012 (A Wilson) - The occurrence consists of a zone of sandy limonite concretions within overburden at a depth of approximately 1.5 feet below the surface. The upper foot of sand is dark brown, but below the limonite zone the sand is yellow-brown, changing downwards to almost white. The limonite concretions occur as layers and break into pieces up to 4 inches in diameter. They range in thickness from ¼ inch to 2 inches. Individual concretions would probably assay 50% iron.
