Access Description: 12.8 km SW of Gooderham. Junction Hwy 503 and White Lake Rd; proceed onto the White Lake Rd. 1.4 km Junction: follow road on right. 2.6 km Junction single-lane mine road on left; turn left onto this road. 3.0 km Trench at sharp bend in road. Dumps are located in the wooded area on both sides of the trench. (Sabina, 1986, GSC MP39, p95).



Exploration History

Circa 1883 – workings consisted of a trnch 240 ft long and about 16 ft. wide. Considerable tonnage shipped by Parry and Mills.

Jan 11, 2017 (A Wilson) - The ore body is 7 feet wide at the northern end of the trench, but at the southern end, the ore has been practically all replaced by horneblende and other ferruginous silicates.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Laidlaw) - A skarn assemblage of coarse magnetite, carbonates, pyroxenes, hornblende and garnet. Uraconite (sulphate of uranium) was observed in minute cavities in the magnetite (GSC 1915, Memoir 74, p230).
