Mineralization Comments

Jan 31, 2017 (A Wilson) - The Poker and Thora Zones were sampled by the writer and George Farr of Wilberforce. Five samples were collected, three from the Poker Zone and two from the Thora Zone. All samples were submitted to X-Ray Assay Laboratories for assaying by the ICP/MS method which gave results for the Rare Earths, Yttrium, uranium and thorium. Poker Zone -The assay results from this zone are not impressive. Sample No. l yielded low values in Yttrium but fairly good values in Lanthanum and Cerium while the thorium and uranium values are of slight interest. The other samples results are of no interest. Thora Zone The assay results from this zone are quite low. Neither the Yttrium nor Earth assay results offer any hope for economic development. Spence Zone Rare Earth minerals were first recognized in the late 1940''s in the Spence Cut by Dr. Hugh Spence a Retired Geological Survey of Canada specialist in Rare Earth minerals. Subsequently, concentrations of Rare Earths and Yttrium were recorded in the concentrate liquors recovered during mill test research procedures developed by the federal government mill test laboratories in Ottawa. During the present program, a picket line grid system was set up to tie in the Spence Cut and related trenches, the Adit, and the Shaft. These are all indicated on the accompanying map. Nine Grab samples were collected, and assayed for Yttrium, Lanthanum, Samarium Europium and Gadolinium. The results are tabulated on the accompanying Rare Earth Sheet. Lanthanum and Yttrium returned the highest values. Yttrium values ranged from 13 to 338 ppm and Lanthanum values ranged from 48.7 to 3680 ppm.
