Point Location Description: Marble outcrop south of Hwy 503 in lot 2, con 6, near western boundary of township.
Location Method: Data Compilation
Access Description: On the old highway between Irondale and Gooderham, just west of the old railway point of Maxwells. South of Hwy 500, on the south side of the Irondale River.
Circa 1890 : marble was quarried for tombstones (by A. Curry).

Jan 25, 2017 (C Papertzian) - A quarry in a 6 m (20 ft) wide belt of white, coarse-grained dolomitic marble, along the north edge of a gneissoid hill. It is exposed on the Irondale River for a short distance only. 2 samples were taken in 1912 (# 25 from the underlying thin beds is micaceous, # 24 is from the upper unit, a very coarse marble but dirty in appearance).

Jan 25, 2017 (A Wilson) - The marble here is exposed on the north edge of a hill, and consists of an 8 m wide band of white crystalline dolomite marble, with some flakes of mica. The quarry operated in 1890, and produced stone for monumental purposes,examples of which may be seen in the Gelert cemetary
